Venue
The venue is the splendid St Blane’s House which is on the sea front in the village of Kilchattan Bay on the beautiful Isle of Bute.

Location
The unique location offers unlimited, exciting scope for artists to sketch and paint the ever changing skies, seas and shoreline.

Wildlife
..and if you enjoy wildlife, Kilchattan Bay is a haven for a wide variety of birds and animals.
Curious seals pop up regularly to watch the artists in action …this is Sammy the seal who was a regular visitor on the last course!..or listen to the cries and calls of the Curlews and Oyster Catchers as they forage for food on the shoreline. These lovely photos were taken outside St Blane’s by Paul Bradburn one of the participants who is also an exceptionally talented photographer.

Amongst my favourite birds around Kilchattan is the lovely Oyster Catcher as seen in this photograph. Photograph by John Williams.

If you are up early enough you may be fortunate to see one of a number of otters and their families that live around the Island. We are fortunate in having a number of excellent photographers on Bute who have captured superb shots of otters and their families.
